The Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum is a highly regarded international series that serves as a vital research aid in the study of Greek pottery. This first fascicule of the CVA from the University Museum includes South Italian vases. Cataloging some hundred thousand examples of ancient Greek painted pottery held in collections around the world, the authoritative Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum (Corpus of Ancient Vases) is the oldest research project of the Union Académique Internationale. Nearly four hundred volumes have been published since the first fascicule appeared in This volume includes all of the non-Attic material, with the exception of the Etruscan pottery, in the Molly and Walter Bareiss collection of ancient vases. It also covers the Attic Geometric vessels and nonfigural Attic material in the same collection. The majority of the pieces in the volume are red-figured vases and fragments from South Italy and Sicily, with many of the best Apulian.
